Too Much You in Your Kitchen?
When selling your home it is important to consider how a potential buyer is likely to view your home. Does it come across as too personal, or with great potential? One area in which renovations can be expensive and time consuming is the kitchen. You many have the colors and matching appliances just how you like them, but how will this affect a buyers choices?
To increase buyer interest, real estate agents suggest keeping kitchen colors neutral. Whites and off-whites are the safest colors, but pastels and other muted shades are also a good idea. As for appliances, stainless steel trusted brands are always a safe bet for modern kitchens.
It also helps to keep layouts simple, and incorporate backsplashes made of easy to clean materials such as conventional tile. Another place where personal taste might need to be put aside is countertops. Although these can be replaced much more easily than other large surfaces, most people prefer Silestone, basalt, Quartzite, schist, basalt, or nonporous granite due to their durability.
Just remember, the more potential a buyer can see in your kitchen, the more likely they are to purchase the house.
